Oversize freight

Too long for most trucks. Right on time for yours.

Steel, poles, trusses, sheds and site offices. Permitted, chained to the federal count, flagged, escorted and delivered when the crew is waiting.

  1. 01 · The load

Sixty feet of steel on a 48-foot deck.

Set on dunnage, centered, with the overhang where the permit says it can be.

  2. 02 · Secured

Seven chains, counted to the rule.

Steel edges cut webbing, so steel rides on Grade 70 chain and binders, counted to the federal rule.

  3. 03 · Ready to roll

    Flagged, lit and escorted.

Red flag on the tip, banners front and back, and an escort with its lights on before the wheels turn.

Long, wide, tall or heavy.

Over-dimensional loads ride on League Trucking's own flatbeds. Heavy and overweight loads go on our own trucks when they fit, and through League Logistics on lowboys, RGNs and step decks from carriers we vet when they don't. Either way, one team handles the permits and escorts.

Over-length

Loads that run past the back of the trailer.

  • Steel I-beams and girders
  • Utility and light poles
  • Pipe and trusses
  • Conveyor sections

Over-width

Loads wider than the deck, hanging past both sides.

  • Storage sheds
  • Site and mobile offices
  • Modular units
  • Tanks and housings

Over-height

Loads that need a route checked for bridges and wires.

  • Machinery and frames
  • Crated equipment
  • Structural assemblies
  • Aerospace tooling

Overweight

Loads past legal weight, on our trucks or on lowboys and RGNs booked through League Logistics.

  • Excavators and dozers
  • Transformers and generators
  • Presses and heavy machinery
  • Permitted and escorted

Not sure what it needs? Send the dimensions and weight. We'll tell you whether it rides on our own trucks or goes out through League Logistics, and price it either way.

How an oversize load moves with us.

The same four things every time, before the wheels turn.

  1. Route and permits

We check the route for bridges, wires, turns and curfews, then pull the permit for every state it crosses.

  2. Loaded to fit the permit

Centered on dunnage, with the overhang and width the permit allows and nothing past it.

  3. Secured to the rule

Federal rules set the minimum: two tie-downs for the first 10 feet of cargo, one more for every 10 feet after. Steel rides on chain.

    49 CFR 393.110 and 393.104.

  4. Flagged, lit and escorted

Red flags on the corners and the overhang, OVERSIZE LOAD banners, lights, and escort vehicles where the permit calls for them.

Send us the dimensions.

Length, width, height and weight is all we need to start. A person on our team prices it and checks the permits.
